There were 104 respondents to the online public survey. The feedback is summarised below:
- Just over half of respondents to the survey had not previously studied an Adult Community Learning course (51.0%), however, the vast majority were interested in potentially taking one in the future (66.3%).
- Of the courses currently on offer, ‘Arts and Crafts’ (n=70) and ‘Languages’ (n=50) were the two that respondents showed the most interest in, with several gaining only minimal interest, although 23 people added further ‘Other’ suggestions to portray their subjects of interest. There were many different suggestions with British Sign Language (n=4) the only suggestion to be provided more than twice.
- Half of respondents selected ‘face-to-face’ learning as their preference (50.0%), although there was also large support for ‘a mixture of face-to-face and online’ (41.2%), while ‘online’ learning was not selected by many of the respondents (6.9%).
- Respondents’ choices for their marketing preferences were varied and split amongst the cohort. ‘Warwickshire County Council website’ was the most frequency chosen answer (n=63), although many of the answers had a number of selections, which included the additional ‘Other’ text box, where there was also interest in ‘E-mail’ (n=11) and print marketing in the form of a ‘Brochure’, ‘Booklet’ or ‘Leaflet’.
The most frequent themes mentioned in other comments was range of courses, positives of Adult Community Learning, and course times and schedule.

Overview
Warwickshire’s Adult and Community Learning Service is part of Warwickshire County Council and a provider of adult learning.
We offer formal and informal learning programmes to adults aged 19+ across Warwickshire, in over 30 inclusive learning environments in a wide range of community venues.
We want our residents to have the opportunities to realise their potential, even if they may not have had positive experiences of learning in the past. We want to enable participation and remove barriers to learning, including for adults who might otherwise be disadvantaged because of economic inactivity, learning or language needs, vulnerability, isolation or digital exclusion.
We offer support to learners, so that they can grow in confidence, build on existing knowledge, develop skills, try new experiences, meet new people or find a job. We listen to learners and partner with them to develop high quality services that meet their needs and requirements, respond to how they want to learn, and enable them to develop the skills that employers are seeking.
As such, this survey is intended to gather your thoughts to help shape the future of the courses and learning available in Warwickshire as part of the Adult and Community Learning Service.
